The Punjab government has announced that schools in Punjab will resume on August 24, 2026, after the summer vacation.
The clarification came in the wake of rumors on social media that the provincial government was considering extending the summer break. Those reports have been refuted by School Education Secretary Mudassar Riaz who stated there was no decision to extend vacations.
Schools to Reopen on August 24
The School Education Department says activities of education will continue as per the schedule from Monday, August 24, across the province of Punjab.
No changes to the previous Academic Calendar have been announced by the department. In this regard, all students, teachers, and school administrators should get ready to reopen as scheduled.
Education Secretary Rejects Holiday Extension Reports
The department is not thinking of extending the summer break, School Education Secretary Mudassar Riaz explained.
He asked parents and students to steer clear of information that they do not know to be accurate provided via social media. Any changes in the school programme would be made via official government channels, he said.

The clarification should help parents and students who were waiting for confirmation regarding when schools will reopen.
