Over Rs. 60 Million Scholarship Support
The Punjab government will be offering scholarships valued at over Rs., as per the latest announcement. Around 500 students to 60 million in the area of Gilgit-Baltistan.
The scholarships may be a part of the larger scholarship scheme called Honhaar Scholarship Scheme that aims to supply monetary help to deserving and gifted students to keep them from turning down to continue their schooling as a result of financial constraints.
The scholarships will be given to the selected students by the Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
Seven Educational Institutions to Benefit
The latest allocation of scholarships to students of seven educational institutions in Gilgit-Baltistan will benefit the students.
The initiative is part of a plan to broaden educational opportunities, and also to assist students from outside of Punjab.
Scholarships can be a great financial support for many students, helping them manage the cost of college and prioritize their studies.
Honhaar Scholarship Scheme Includes Provincial Quotas
The scholarships for Gilgit-Baltistan students are a gift of the Punjab government, says Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat.
He pointed out that the Honhaar Scholarship Scheme provides for students from each province, thus giving access to this programme to talented students from various parts of the country.
This will extend the impact of the Scholarship programme and increase access to education for students outside of Punjab.
Scholarships for AJK Students Also Planned
The Punjab government has also announced that the students of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) will soon be included under a separate scholarship scheme.
The Punjab Education Minister has said that scholarships for AJK students will be announced soon.
The shift would help the province’s government educational support program for students from varied areas to grow.
Why the Honhaar Scholarship Matters
Limited financial resources can be a huge hurdle for students who want to go on to higher education. Talent has the potential to continue in education without financial burden if the scholarship program can be of assistance.

By allocating more than Rs. The government is expanding its scholarship offering beyond the province to serve 60 million students at almost 500 schools across Gilgit-Baltistan.
The scholarships being planned for AJK students would enhance this model and create more opportunities for the talented youth of the country.
More than Rs. 2,000 crores have been invested in scholarships for students of Punjab by the government of Gilgit Baltistan. Honhaar Scholarship Scheme is a programme of nearly 500 students with a total budget of Rs. 60 Million.
The scheme would offer much-needed financial assistance to students from various parts of Pakistan, and also help students from seven educational institutions.
